Welcome to My Digital Brain 🧠

Hello there! 👋 I’m Denny, a passionate AI researcher working on getting my M.S. in Computer Science at Tufts University. I’m deeply immersed in the world of machine learning, deep learning, and software development. My mission? To make a meaningful impact in the world through applied ML and to push the boundaries of the field through research.

About Me

🤖 The Engineer: At the heart, I’m an engineer driven by the challenge of solving complex problems. From 2017 to 2019, I worked on optimization and modeling, then at Carnegie Mellon (2020) I found a passion for ML and the wide variety of applications it has. My optimization and modeling background provided a great foundation for my future ML work.

🧠 The ML Enthusiast: I’m fascinated by the potential of machine learning and deep learning. These aren’t just tools for me; they’re gateways to endless possibilities that can reshape our future. I’m currently intrigued by multimodel models because I believe that area of research has a lot of potential due to current shortfalls in SOTA models (e.g., https://arxiv.org/abs/2502.09696.)

💻 The Developer: I’ve enjoyed taking complex ideas and turning them into simple, reusable code since I wrote my first print('hello world'). That’s been around 10 years now so I think I’ve found a lifelong hobby in code.

🌍 Making a Difference: Ultimately, my work is about making a difference. It doesn’t need to change the world, but pushing the boundaries of research so others can innovate on my work, or making a small part of a process more efficient to save others time. If my work can help others in any way, I find it fulfilling, and it drives me to strive for excellence.

🔗 Connect with Me

  • TeUAS: Discover my first project at KEF Robotics on improving tethered drone hazard avoidance using deep learning. I was the lead machine learning engineer on this project. One of the most difficult problems was power line avoidance. I was able to select, train, and implement a transformer based segmentation model that allowed our team to accurately avoid power lines.
